About us

The Prof Kholofelo Rakubu Foundation is a non‑profit organization dedicated to advancing safety, justice, and social empowerment. Guided by the vision of building a just, safe, and empowered society, we work to ensure that every individual especially youth and vulnerable communities can thrive free from violence, fear, and
social harm.

Our Mission

The Prof Kholofelo Rakubu Foundation is committed to advancing community safety,
justice, poverty alleviation, and social well‑being through research, education,
advocacy, and transformative programs.

Our vision

To build a just, safe, and empowered society where every individual especially youth, vulnerable households, and marginalized communities can thrive free from violence, fear, poverty, and social harm. We envision communities where dignity is restored through safety, justice, and sustainable support systems, ensuring that no family goes hungry and every person has the opportunity to live with hope and resilience.

What we do

Linking Shoes to Broader Safety Campaigns
The shoe drive is part of the foundation’s holistic commitment to advancing community safety, justice, and social well-being. Alongside footwear donations, the foundation runs campaigns that:
 • School safety initiatives – empowering learners with resilience tools and mental health support.
• Violence prevention and restorative justice – reducing risks in communities and schools.
• Gender-based violence support – protecting vulnerable learners and survivors.
• Substance abuse prevention – safeguarding youth from risks that undermine education.
• Correctional reform and reintegration – strengthening justice systems and community trust.

Community Safety and Stakeholder Partnerships
The foundation further strives to ensure generic community safety by building strong stakeholder partnerships. This means:
• Collaborating with schools, parents, and local leaders to create safer learning environments.
• Partnering with corporates, NGOs, and government agencies to expand resources and reach.
• Engaging communities in awareness campaigns that foster dignity, equity, and civic responsibility.
